Welcome! Here’s everything you’ll need to enroll a student. Gather these items before you begin.

Required to enroll

Proof of identity

A birth certificate, or another reliable proof such as:
- The student’s valid passport or other federal government ID
- The student’s valid Kentucky driver’s license or permit for students age 16 or older
- A custody decree or dissolution-of-marriage order naming the child and date of birth
- Prior school records, other than Gallatin County Schools, naming the child and date of birth
Proof of residency

One of the following may be accepted. Two documents may be required when additional verification is needed.
- A utility bill
  - The service must be tied to the property. Cell phone bills are not accepted. Cable, electric, and water bills may be accepted.
- A deed or lease
  - An authentic home-builder contract with an approved district transfer, lease, closing statement, or other home-dwelling document
Recent preventive health care exam 30-day rule
Up-to-date Kentucky immunization certificate 30-day rule
- Per 702 KAR 001:160 and Board Policy 09.211, a current Kentucky immunization certificate must be on file within two weeks for each student.
Proof of dental and eye examination 30-day rule
Court documents pertaining to the student, if applicable

* A student coming from an out-of-district address must complete the application process through the DPP before enrolling in Gallatin County Schools.

** A student may be registered and enrolled without these documents. However, families will have 30 days to produce them, or law enforcement will be notified and educational neglect charges will be filed.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please remember to have your child arrive at their bus stop 5–10 minutes early each morning. Bus schedules can vary slightly due to sub drivers, traffic, weather, or road conditions, and arriving early helps ensure that students do not miss the bus.

For safety reasons, students should be waiting at the designated stop before the bus arrives and remain a safe distance from the road until the bus comes to a complete stop.

So when do I need MySchoolBucks?

MySchoolBucks is our online payment system. Because meals are free, most families will only use it for optional or extra items, such as:

À la carte or extra food items beyond the standard meal (where offered)
Other school fees or activities that a building may collect online

If your student only eats the regular school breakfast and lunch, you likely will not need to add any money at all.

How to set up an account and add funds

1. Go to MySchoolBucks.com and create a free account (or sign in).

2. Add your student using their name, school, and student ID number.

3. Choose "Add Money" and pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

4. You can set low-balance reminders and view purchase history any time.

What is Infinite Campus and how do I access it?

What is Infinite Campus?

Infinite Campus is the student information system (SIS) used by Gallatin County Schools. It's the secure online platform where student records live—things like grades, attendance, class schedules, assignments, report cards, and health and enrollment information.

For families, the Campus Parent Portal is the easiest way to stay connected to your child's education. Through the portal you can check grades and attendance, view schedules and assignments, see school announcements, and keep your contact information up to date. Parents and guardians receive login details from the district, and the portal is available both online and through the Campus Parent mobile app.

The goal of the Gallatin County Schools Health Services Department is to promote a safe and healthy school environment by students. The roles of the School Nurse and the Health Aide are:

Important information about immunizations

Immunization Forms and Information

The Kentucky Immunization Program works to provide services aimed at preventing and reducing the risk and incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases for all Kentuckians. For more information, please visit the Kentucky Immunization Program .

Commonwealth of Kentucky Certificate of Immunization Status	KRS 214.034 requires any child enrolled as a regular attendee in all public or private primary or secondary schools, and preschool programs shall have a current immunization certificate and be on file within two weeks of the child’s attendance.
Commonwealth of Kentucky Certificate of Religious Exemption	KRS 214.036 requires parents who object to immunization of their child to provide a written sworn statement objecting to immunization of the child on religious grounds. This certificate should be presented to the school or facility in which the child is enrolled

Preventative Health Care Examination of Students (School Physical)	702 KAR 1:160 requires each child first entering a Kentucky public school or entering Grade 6 to present a Kentucky Preventative Health Care Examination Form. This exam may be completed up to one year prior to initial entry.
Dental Screening/Exam	KRS 156.160 (j) requires proof of a dental screening or examination by a dentist, dental hygienist, physician, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant to be presented to the school no later than January 1 of the first year that a five (5) or six (6) year old child is enrolled in public school.
Vision Exam Form	KRS 156.160 (1)(i) requires proof of a vision examination by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. This evidence shall be submitted to the school no later than January 1 of the first year that a three (3), four (4), five (5) or six (6) year old is enrolled in public school, public preschool, or Head Start program.
Athletic Participation Form - High School Athletic Participation Form - Middle School	KRS 156.070 (2)(d) states that an annual physical examination and parental consent are required for any any student participating in a sport or sport-activity at the middle school or high school level. Medication Permission Form	Gallatin County School Board Policy 09.2241 states parental consent must be given before medications can be administered during the school day.

What paperwork is needed for athletics?

KRS 156.070 (2)(d) requires an annual examination (for any student participating in school athletics) by the health care providers listed in that statute and Bylaw 12, Sec. 1(a). Per that statute, the KHSAA nor any other agency may adopt any other provisions contrary to that annual requirement. The examination shall be considered valid for 395 days beyond the date of administration (one year plus thirty (30) days).
